Ruby was a lost boy. He was homeless and wandering the streets of Wilkinsburg. Ruby’s future changed when he fell into the care of Paws Across Pittsburgh. PAP was able to take Ruby in and give him the love and care that he so desperately needed. They were also able to find this boy his furever home with a loving and caring owner! Ruby will never wander the streets alone again.
Ruby is an 8-year-old Pomeranian with short hair and a tan coat. Ruby has the sweetest, most gentle personality. He loves to be held and to cuddle on the couch with his new human. Don’t let his age fool you, when it’s time for a walk, Ruby is spunky and ready to go! Ruby loves stealing attention and is eager to please. He loves being rewarded with treats. He especially loves earning treats after he has been a good boy and potties outside. Ruby loves to follow his mom around his new home, even while she is doing chores. He and his new mom are already ‘two peas in a pod’!
This handsome boy is a crowd stopper and grabs the attention of many while he is on his daily walks. He loves meeting new people and people love meeting Ruby! Ruby’s mom says that he literally stops traffic, and everyone wants the chance to pet him! Ruby enjoys the company of other dogs and cats that are friendly towards him.
Although it doesn’t slow him down, Ruby has had some health concerns. He has a collapsing trachea that is now being managed through a healthy lifestyle. He also has a potential knee issue that is being cared for by his new veterinarian. Ruby is part of Paws Across Pittsburgh’s LOVS Program (Lifetime of Veterinarian Support for Senior Paws Program), which means that his vet care will be paid for throughout his lifetime by this donation-supported program.
Ruby’s mom tells us that she is amazed every day at how quickly the two of them were able to bond and how easily he was willing to trust her. She says that for a senior dog, Ruby is quite spunky and has a lot of energy…’till it’s his naptime!
